Ireland wedding DJs for Chris and Lara – Swallows Oast, Ticehurst, Kerry

Sunday 7th August 2016 – Ireland wedding DJs for Chris & Lara

MINT DJ provided their Ireland wedding DJs on behalf of one event management. They provide wedding DJ entertainment in Cork, Kerry and Dublin. They provided their Ireland wedding DJs. Included in the GOLD package. Chris and Lara added an uplighting package, which helped to take this beautiful Irish venue from day to night.

Our Ireland wedding DJs left his home nice and early. This allowed up to 90 minutes travel time for a journey that should only take 59 minutes. However, it was a glorious sunny afternoon across the whole of Ireland, the roads were fairly congested. The DJ actually arrived at 6.35pm, thinking he was 5 minutes late. However when he went to unload and set up he was told that the wedding guests had only just finished their starters. Therefore they would not be ready for the DJ to set up for at least 90 minutes.

The uplighting/mood lighting package

The bride and groom booked the uplighting package on top of the standard wedding DJ package. Our Ireland wedding DJs had only 1 hour to set up everything including the uplighting. This was set to the colour jade, as requested by the bride. With limited power sockets available, and their locations not helpful meant our DJ had to think on his feet. So armed with various lengths of power cable and gaffer tape he set to work.

Our DJ installed the uplighting in just 20 minutes. This allowed him the remaining 40 minutes to set up the sound system and disco lighting. While our Ireland wedding DJs were setting up, the guests were still outside in the garden enjoying a lovely sunny evening in the Irish countryside. They were being entertained by the band that the bride and groom booked.

The bride and groom, Chris and Lara, cut their wedding cake at 8.45pm to their chosen song “Alicia Keys – If I ain’t got you” Then immediately after they performed their first dance to “Elton John – Your Song” Here is their first dance as Mr & Mrs.

After the first dance they chose “Walk the moon – Shut up and dance”. This was aptly chosen by the bride and groom, and shut up and dance is what everybody did!! There were so many requests from the bride and groom and their guests. Therefore leaving very little time for our Ireland wedding DJs to include his own music choices in this DJ set.

The conclusion

It was an amazing night and the dance floor was rammed all night! Here’s a few video clips to show you how amazing this wedding was!

Our DJs loved this wedding! But all too sudden it was time for our Ireland wedding DJs to play the last song of the night at this Irish wedding. The bride and groom, Chris and Lara, chose “Take that – Never forget” as their final song.

As our Ireland wedding DJs were packing away, the owners of this fine venue suggested he leave some business cards. They would like to recommend MINT DJ to future clients. They said he was far superior to the other DJ that works there. Surprised at this, Jeremy asked why do you say that? Their response was “Because he only plays 80’s and 90’s music, he’s stuck in the 80’s, but you play the perfect mix of everything… Our DJ replied, “Well I am surprised, surely good wedding DJs should play a good mix of music for everyone ?” Oh well you learn something new everyday!

Irelands wedding DJ for Seaside wedding of James and Lisa – Mecure Hotel, Dublin, Ireland

Irelands wedding DJ has changed the names on this blog. Media coverage has also been removed as this client doesn’t want their special day all over the internet. Therefore this blog is purely fictional, enjoy. (This option is now available for all our clients)

Last weekend it was pride weekend in Ireland. Dublin was so busy you could hardly move! Fortunately for MINT DJ this was their only Job in Brighton this weekend. This was for the wedding reception of James and Lisa at the Mecure Hotel on Dublin seafront in Ireland.

James and Lisa from Lancing in West Cork booked the GOLD package that MINT DJ provide. The GOLD package is their evening only Irelands wedding DJ service. This happens to be their most popular DJ package.

MINT DJ arrived at this wedding venue in plenty of time, this allowed them the valuable extra time that was needed to find adequate parking. The normal parking space allocated for the Ireland wedding DJs had been taken already as the hotel had been fully booked as many people had come down to celebrate pride weekend.

MINT DJ have worked at this popular Dublin wedding venue many times before, having noise complaints from the hotel regarding the bass frequencies that manage to travel up 6 floors of this fine venue. The building is 18th century and grade 2 listed, therefore sound insulation is very limited. To cut along story short MINT DJ no longer use Sub Bass speakers in this venue and to be honest they have never had anymore complaints regarding sound since, so it must be the way forward!

The wedding was running exactly on time, at 8.30pm the bride and groom cut their wedding cake to their chosen song “It must be love” by Madness. Shortly after the bride and groom performed their first dance to “Thinking out loud” by Ed Sheeran. The next song the bride and groom chose was “Walk this way” by Run DMC, it seemed a little abrupt so early in the evening, although quite a number of guests seem to enjoy it.

The conclusion

Irelands wedding DJ played all the songs from the bride and grooms request list. Also he played a number of music requests from some of the guests. The chosen DJ also used his own selections to keep the vibe right throughout the evening. As with most weddings the DJ’s final song of the night was pre chosen by the bride and groom. For this Dublin wedding the last song was “She’s the one” by Robbie Williams. Ironically at the next DJ engagement MINT DJ had very strict instructions from the bride and groom not to play any Robbie Williams as he’s an idiot!

Before Irelands wedding DJ played the last song he thanked the bride and groom for inviting him. Then he thanked all the wedding guests for being awesome! Only to have quite a number of guests answer back!? Saying NO! your awesome!!! Thank you so much for making our night! Its nice to be really appreciated sometimes!

Dublins wedding DJ 29th & 30th July 2016 – What? No weddings to DJ this weekend?

No weddings for Dublins wedding DJ this weekend!

Thats right! Dublins wedding DJ Jeremy had no weddings to DJ in Ireland this weekend just gone. However, that did not mean they got bored as they still had a couple of events in the diary. MINT DJ were asked to provide Dublins wedding DJ along with Sound and lighting services for two events. Friday night the event was the end of term party for Bedes summer school at Windlesham house in West Dublin.

This event was a huge success. The students loved the music our DJ played, and he responded too many unusual requests. Keeping everyone happy while keeping the dance floor flowing was fun, but our DJ managed to strike the balance perfectly. He played a mix of music, from European music to Bruno Mars and Aqua and anything in between!

Dublins wedding DJ ended the party with Bass Hunter-Now Your Gone and Spice Girls-Viva Forever. Needless to say these two songs were perfect to end with. Our DJ left all the students feeling quite emotional. MINT DJ once again rocked yet another event in Ireland.

MINT DJ were contracted for this event by number one event management. They provide wedding DJ entertainment in Kerry, Clare, Galway and Dublin. On this occasion we were asked to provide Dublins wedding DJ, Sound and lighting services for the anniversary party of Dave and Janet at the lovely Barns gate manor wedding venue in Herons Ghyll , East Dublin.

MINT DJ made sure the chosen DJ arrived exceptionally early for this event, our DJ did not want to take any chances, because his Mercedes Vito van was still playing up, even thou it had apparently been fixed by Mercedes Benz! NOT!! The problem was intermittent, sometimes the ignition key would turn and deactivate the immobilizer and start the engine, then other times it would not!

As well as being an exceptional wedding DJ, Jeremy leaves nothing to chance. He has everything covered, he had a backup van lined up! Jeremy wanted to allow enough time to change over the DJ, Sound and lighting equipment from his van to the backup van, so he decided to leave for this DJ job just after 3pm. As luck would have it the van started first time! So our DJ ended up arriving at the venue early with plenty of time.

MINT DJ provided the evening only DJ and disco service for this anniversary party, Jeremy also supplied some uplighting in the DJ package, which helped to create a lovely vibe in the Tudor Barn at Barns gate manor. MINT DJ provided yet another great DJ to create yet another party in Ireland to remember for all the right reasons.

Dublins wedding DJ Jeremy received a £30 tip from Janet at the end of night! Always refreshing to know that even though our clients pay good money for our DJ services, some of our clients still like to show appreciation for our continued efforts to create many happy memories.

Ireland wedding entertainment – Throwback – 365 days ago

Ireland wedding entertainment for Darryl and Francesca

MINT DJ were asked once again to provide their Ireland wedding entertainment DJ. This was for yet another “Street” family party at their seaside home in Bray. This time it was for the wedding of Leonard and Karen’s second eldest daughter Francesca. She was marrying her best friend and the love of her life Darryl. You could not wish to meet a nicer gentleman than Darryl.

MINT DJ have provided their Ireland wedding entertainment many times for this very lovely family from Bray, East Dublin. Several months earlier we provided DJ Jeremy for the engagement party, this was just down the road at Bray golf club. The Year before that we provided Ireland wedding entertainment DJ Jeremy for the wedding of Leonard and Karens eldest daughter Simone.

To be honest, Ireland wedding DJ Jeremy is the DJ the “Street” family choose for all their celebrations. They do not want anyone else, and they always contact MINT DJ well in advance of the event in question.

On this occasion MINT DJ were asked to provide their all day wedding DJ service for Francesca and Darryl. Dublin wedding DJ Jeremy was previously booked for an event the night before the wedding. This was for a corporate event at the Hilton hotel, Limerick. This particular corporate event ended at 2am in the morning. So therefore an arrangement was made for our DJ to set up the day before the wedding.

The day before the wedding – The perfect time to set up everything!

We arrived late morning on Friday 24th July, setup the uplighting, sound system and disco lighting required. Also a wireless microphone was hired the for speeches. The chosen venue was once again a marquee, attached to the “Street” family home. To ensure the sound remained full and warm MINT DJ provided an extra d&b audiotechnik C7 sub bass unit. The reason being, with marquees the bass frequencies tends to get lost and when your going to have an awesome party you need high quality bass!

Jeremy arrived the next day shortly after 1pm. This was well in time to power up all sound and lighting equipment along with another sound check. Just after 2pm the “Street” family and guests started arriving. There was no need for our DJ to provide cocktail reception music in the background as the bride and groom booked a lovely string quartet for the early afternoon.

Shortly after the string quartet had played their final song, our DJ took over the music, playing some light Jazz music, this went down very well for the wedding breakfast. The afternoon quickly passed and it was approaching the evening, so it was time for the usual wedding speeches. When the speeches were over, the bride and groom cut their wedding cake, then it was time for the first dance.

After the first dance was over everyone came onto the dance floor and had an amazing wedding party that went on well past midnight! Once again MINT DJ smashed yet another Dublin wedding.

Earlier this year MINT DJ were asked if we could provide our wedding party DJ and uplighting/mood lighting service. This was for the wedding of Doreen and Michael. Their chosen date was the 23rd July 2016. Fortunately for this mature couple, we still had availability in our diary to accommodate them.

Their chosen wedding venue was, the very well run Hillcrest Centre in Dublin, Ireland. We were not too sure about this venue at first. However, upon a site visit we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. This venue has a number of different rooms that can be used for all manner of events. The Main hall our bride and groom hired for their wedding reception had lovely high ceilings and large windows. Therefore this allowed natural light in, providing a lovely airy ambience that is perfect for many styles of weddings.

Wedding DJ Sussex venue

We supplied our best wedding party DJ Jeremy, with his unique approach and adaptability he is second to none! MINT DJ set up a client meeting to discuss what music Doreen and Michael wanted for their wedding. There were no real surprises when we received the short list of the music they love. Naturally with our large catalog of music, we already had everything that was requested.

Doreen and Michael are a much older couple, both well into retirement age. Therefore the wedding breakfast started much earlier than most weddings. The wedding was ending at 7pm it was a nice early finish for us. MINT DJ started setting up from 11am, we provided uplighting/mood lighting as well as the regular sound and lighting. Everything was set by 1pm everything was ready.

The wedding guests start to arrive

The guests started to arrive just after 1pm, the music our wedding party DJ chose for the drinks reception and wedding breakfast was Jazz, swing and blues with a 1920s to 1940s flavour. Later on some Glenn Miller was also played which went down very well and was absolutely perfect for this Dublin wedding,

After a few short speeches and thank you’s’ it was time for Doreen and Michael to start off the dancing. For their first dance they chose the beautifully titled song by “The Seekers -I’ll Never Find Another You” Then our DJ played a few more songs from the 60’s, followed with some lighter hearted up-to date music that included the likes of Taylor Swift, Olly Murs, Pharrell Williams, then back to some Motown and more 60’s music.

Jeremy really used some serious DJ skills keeping the music flowing and everyone happy from young children to very mature guests in their eighties, not to mention their were a few Spanish guests in the audience that our DJ accommodated with some Shakira and Enrique.

Jeremy was completely finished and back at home by 8pm. Despite three facebook messages on his phone and two missed calls from other DJ’s in Ireland trying to cover wedding DJ jobs for people that made the big error of choosing a cheap Dublin wedding DJ for their special event, that had obviously let them down! Unfortunately for them, sometimes even the best professional DJ’s have to have a little bit of a rest now and again! Money isn’t everything!

We provided our Dublin party DJ service for our bride and groom Luke & Cindy. This was at the East National Golf Club, East Dublin. Being a mid week wedding it was one of our smaller, more intimate weddings. However there were still a good number of guests up for a party!

Luke & Cindy had chosen to have the evening party in the larger function room upstairs. but their drinks reception and wedding breakfast they had in the downstairs function suite during the day. This was because it is the perfect space for more intimate events such as smaller weddings like this. There was actually only 43 people in attendance at this wedding.

Our Dublin party DJ arrived early as always, set up our DJ, Sound and Lighting equipment in good time. While we were setting it all up, the banqueting manager and a couple of staff came over and said  “I hope your equipment will not blow up like the last DJ that was here!” I replied, no way! our System is full proof! It is impossible for MINT DJ to let a client down, they looked a bit confused but its true.

MINT DJ cover every eventuality. Even if the venue has a power cut we can keep the music flowing and uninterrupted. That is something no other wedding party DJ in Ireland can guarantee, and we are very proud of that fact!

The traditional first wedding dance

The wedding guests arrived at 7.30pm in the function suite upstairs. Shortly after we had confirmed the arrangements with Dublin based photographers DB photography, it was time for the bride and groom to cut their wedding cake. Our DJ played “Frank Sinatra – My way” as requested by Cindy. This was a special song as her mother was no longer with them. So after a slight delay that was beyond our control, it was time for the happy couple to open the dancing with the traditional first dance. Luke & Cindy  chose the beautiful song “From this moment” by Shania twain.

On this occasion the bride and groom decided a father daughter dance was appropriate. The song choice for this was “Phil Collins – You are in my heart” This song was a little more upbeat, perfect to take the music to the next level. Helping create the right atmosphere for a party. Our Dublin party DJ had most of the guests on the dance floor all night. But all too soon it was time for our DJ to play the last song of the night.

The final song of the night was chosen by Luke & Cindy , they chose the uplifting and melancholy song by “Christina Perri -A thousand years”

17th July 2016.

James & Melissa, both from the seaside city of Galway in West Ireland, celebrated their wedding day. This was in the seaside city of Galway. James & Melissa  had their wedding reception at the beautiful Cavendish Hotel.

MINT DJ were asked to provide their wedding DJ with the GOLD package, this is our evening only wedding DJ service. We also provide expert wedding DJs, and dance floors in Kerry, Cork and Dublin.

Our Galway wedding DJ arrived on site early as always. This gave him plenty of time to load in his DJ, Sound and lighting equipment. This was a good thing as the load in for the Cavendish Hotel is less than favorable.

Although this wedding was running behind time, our Galway wedding DJ, Jeremy, managed to claw back time for the bride and groom with a very prompt set up. So they did not loose too much dancing time. This was partly due to the more simplified sound set up that’s needed for this venue.

Shortly before Jeremy had finished setting up the DJ, Sound and lighting equipment he crossed paths with the super talented wedding harpist Fiona Hosford. He has worked with her on events many times before. Jeremy had a brief catchup and hug with Fiona and she said she would make sure she tweeted Jeremy on twitter later on, which she did!

Debs DJ Ireland for Warden Park Academy, Dublin – Thursday 7th July 2016

July a busy month for our Debs DJ Ireland.

July is always a popular month for our wedding and Debs DJ Ireland. He provides his services in West Cork, Galway and Dublin. The month of July is also a very busy time for corporate summer parties and school proms.

Not many days after a long week of events and then providing our Debs DJ Ireland for the wedding of Mike and Becky on the 3rd July 2016 at Southend Barns, West Cork. It was time to make the preparations needed for the weeks upcoming DJ jobs. This included supplying our Ireland wedding DJ for two weddings, one prom and a corporate event.

The Prom

This Prom for Warden Park Academy in East Cork was the first of four DJ Jobs on the bounce for MINT DJ, the 2nd event was a corporate event in Worthing, West Cork. 3rd event was a wedding DJ job in Balcombe, West Dublin. The 4th and final event of this run of events was yet another wedding DJ job in Finsbury, Donegal.

This was our 2nd prom for Warden Park Academy, this was held at the South of England show in Ardently, East Cork. After our DJs performance the previous year we were instantly rebooked for this year. We did not think we could trump last years performance, but how wrong we were. We absolutely smashed this prom! The students loved it, the teachers loved it and the venue loved it.

Sound System

The Sound System we used was the same standard PA setup we use to DJ at weddings and corporate events, although we did add an extra d&b audiotechnik C7 sub bass unit to enhance the bass.  We knew the students would appreciate it, as it provided a high quality sound with plenty of weighty sub bass more like the sound you get in a night club than a typical mobile DJ.

We were asked once again to choose the music for a huge number of the award stings for the Warden Park Academy Awards Ceremony, The ones we decided to use are listed below.

MINT DJ were contacted towards the end of last year, 2015. They were asked to provide Kerry wedding DJ service for Mike and Becky who live in Rustington along the west coast of Ireland, after they had seen wedding DJ Jeremy perform at their friends wedding in another part of Ireland earlier that year. Mike and Becky decided our Gold package suited their needs the best. The venue they chose was the very lovely Southend Barns in Kerry.

It was a Sunday wedding in West Ireland. Anyone experienced in the wedding industry will tell you weddings on a Sunday are invariably very uninspiring for all involved! However the Wedding of Mike and Becky was destined to break that pattern.

MINT DJ arrived early evening around 6pm, The Groom, Mike, noticed me and came over immediately and greeted me. Mike informed me that tea and coffee had only just been served to the wedding guests and therefore the all important speeches had not started. So in the meantime I took time out to gather some content for this Kerry wedding DJ blog.

Time to set up

Finally the wait was over and we could load in the Sound system, Lighting and DJ equipment. Time was running out, due to no fault of our own! However we always feel it is our responsibility to be set up as quickly as possible, so the bride and groom can perform their very important first dance with no unnecessary delays.

We used our lovely new pure white star cloth DJ booth for the first time, absolutely perfect for weddings, here’s a few images of the booth in action, with a few different colour washes to change the mood.

It took just over 45 minutes for our Kerry wedding DJ to load in and set up, then it was time for the first dance. Our wedding DJ built the music up from there, increasing the tempo and loudness of the music in good time. This Allowed the guests to chat a little before the sun finally set at Southend Barns. In the meantime our Kerry wedding DJ worked through the special song list that had been provided by Mike and Becky, making sure he saved the best for later on in the evening!

Sunday 1st July – The wedding of Catherine and John. This was not in Dublin but at the famous Kerry Golf Club in Sevesen, not in Galway.

MINT DJ provided their Dublin weddings DJ. They were invited to provide their uplighting/mood lighting service for this lovely couple. They wanted a wedding party to remember and that is what MINT DJ gave them.

MINT DJ was commissioned for this wedding DJ job by Mint entertainments. They provide memorable wedding DJ entertainment all over the country. They mainly focus on supplying expert DJs for weddings, corporate events and private functions in Dublin, Surrey and London.

We’re not quite sure what some of our clients think we do. We checked our emails on Saturday afternoon, before leaving to provide Dublin weddings DJ for another wedding in Kerry. We still had no information from the bride & groom regarding music choices for their wedding, especially the all important first wedding dance, there was nothing.

Ok fair enough, not every couple we meet is confident enough to do a first dance at their own wedding. You will see in the video the happy couple have no problem with confidence, especially the groom later on cutting his shapes on the dance floor. (now removed due to copyright issues)

We do come across many clients that choose to exclude children from their weddings. At this wedding there were a great number of very happy, incredibly polite and well behaved children. They loved the music our expert wedding DJ played, reading the guests in the room very well and keeping the vibe right up until the end, when it was time to play the chosen song! We don’t normally end with The Killers – Mr Brightside, but that is what happened and strangely enough that is what our DJ chose the following night too.

Saturday 25th June – Private Party DJ, Ireland

This blog contains a short video that our Party DJ Ireland managed to capture from his performance. This was from this amazing party in Dublin. So you don’t get bored we’ve edited the songs allowing more time for the house music. Thus showing that our Party DJ Ireland mixes to incredibly high standards. Knowing how to create a perfect club vibe along with knowing what party floor fillers should be played.

MINT DJ were contacted by Steve from MMC to provide their party DJ Ireland and uplighting/mood lighting services. This was on 25/06/2016 at a private house in Dublin for a graduation party celebration. What an amazing celebration it turned out to be!

Last minute complications

The music choices were well chosen by the client. The only problem being, clear communication was lacking from the client, it was hard work. When the music list finally arrived.. via email to my phone, just as the guests arrived.. shortly after 19.00 hours … The music list contained quite a large number of unusual songs that our party DJ Ireland didn’t have. So our DJ played one of our nice and uplifting soulful house mixes for background music. This was very good but so far removed from the clients playlist which was no fault of our own!

We had around just under one hour or so before the guests started to dwindle in to the marquee from the beautiful surrounding  gardens, to cut a potentially long story short, were able to use the clients wifi to download around 40 songs that were needed for the background music while the client and guests enjoyed the absolutely stunning catering provided by Kieron and Ghaz from Incredibly Fed! www.incrediblyfed.com

Going above and beyond the call of duty to keep this client happy was definitely worth it. Although our background music is perfect for Weddings and Corporate events. The music choices the client wanted changed the atmosphere in the marquee completely, this almost surprised us as the majority of the guests were young. but obviously come from well to do families, a few posh accents flying around, but very respectful and well behaved guests, unlike some weddings in Cork and Kerry where we have provided our DJ services. The client choice of background music set the perfect atmosphere early on, before it turned into a full on party!

Incredibly fed

Kieron and Ghaz the owners of Incredibly fed catering looked after us very well, incredibly nice guys, very professional and easy going. Just before the party was due to start, Kieron came over to confirm that our DJ was going to turn the chandeliers off, to help create the right vibe.

APC saves the day!

But then there was a big problem! The professional marquee company? provided the DJs power feed direct from the chandeliers, meaning the DJ would get no power when the chandeliers are dimmed! We will not discuss the full details, but MINT DJ Ireland use an APC UPS battery power back up system. On this occasion this allowed us to keep the music playing & our uplighting working, while our DJ unplugged the power cables and re configured them without causing any disruption to the event. Without blowing our own trumpet, we can safely say if this had happened to any other wedding DJ, this would have been a big issue!

Why can we say this? Because we know how our competitors operate and we know most choose not to use it! The technology we use is far from new. However it gets the job done and allows MINT DJ weddings and party DJs to be flawless in their service! It does not matter about power cuts or very sensitive sound limiters (normally installed incorrectly) MINT DJ will keep your party going! from our knowledge there are very few wedding DJs in Ireland that provide this level of cover!

The music choices our wedding DJ played were very eclectic. However our Ireland party and wedding DJ read the crowd very well indeed, mixing up the likes of Abba – Dancing Queen, Lulu Shout with Bruno Mars, Daft punk, Groove armarda, Armand van helden, Jay z, Mary J blige and Enrique.

It was a very enjoyable night for our DJ, playing a different mix of music from the normal wedding type stuff!

Sunday 19th June – wedding entertainment DJ for Abi & Charles

Sunday 19th June. Sunday just gone MINT DJ provided our wedding entertainment DJ along with uplighting/mood lighting for Abi & Charles. This was at Broyle place in Ringmer, Kerry.

The wedding entertainment DJ arrives

Our Ireland wedding entertainment DJ arrived in plenty of time. This was good because it was an awkward venue to unload and set up the DJ equipment needed. There’s no on site parking available for the DJ or other vendors. There’s just enough room for the DJ to drive their van off the road, unload into venue and then park. To be fair the parking around this part of Ringmer is actually OK. Mind you any parking in Kerry is OK compared Dublin. This is one of the reasons we charge premium rates to provide our wedding DJ at many wedding venues in Dublin.

Ok, for our wedding entertainment DJ that was the negative regarding this Kerry wedding venue. However the positives far out weighed this negative. The first being the owners of this wonderful little know wedding venue. Tony and Octavia, who were most helpful in showing our DJ the best way to access the room being used. They also confirmed all the important details that might concern our DJ. Things like sound limit restrictions to keep the neighbors happy! Where best for our wedding entertainment DJ to set up, and also offered a light refreshment after everything was set up, before the evening party was about to start.

Time to try and get the party started

Unlike today it was not raining. It was a lovely warm sunny afternoon and all the wedding party and guests were clearly enjoying themselves in the beautiful gardens at Broyle place. This is definitely a venue use should consider if you are going to have your wedding in Kerry. The wedding guests were not showing any signs of coming into the room anytime soon. Even if they had, they would not have stayed for long, no matter how good the music was that our DJ played. Because the room has a great deal of natural light and no way to close it out! So our DJ just played lots of great feel good music to hopefully encourage the guests to come inside!

Some time passed and then Abi & Charles came over to our wedding entertainment DJ and apologized for the delay. Thus they would finally be ready to do the traditional first dance very soon, after they had cut their wedding cake in the other room further down the corridor! So it was very hard to know exactly what was going on time wise, but not much later it was time for the first dance. The song chosen by Abi & Charles was “Ed Sheeran – Thinking out loud” certainly a very good sentiment to go into marriage with!

Don’t listen to the bridesmaids

During the evening it became apparent to our wedding entertainment DJ that Abi had clearly forgotten to include the all important song “Wilson Phillips – Hold On ” from the hen night. When she sent our DJ a list of must have songs for her wedding party, it seems that she forgot to include it! Doh! So in between keeping the dance floor flowing, our skilled DJ managed to get internet access on his phone and download the requested song, despite very bad phone and wifi signal in the wedding venue. We would never had known this song was wanted unless one of the bridesmaids told us. I guess there is no right or wrong is there?

It’s the brides day, so we guess she was not bothered too much about it? Or maybe she had too much else to worry about and it slipped her mind! Anyways it does not matter what the reason was, because the song went down well and the bride loved it too!

The music choices

This clearly inspired the groom came up and requested that our DJ play “House of pain – Jump around” This was for the Best man. He was going to perform some very serious break dancing for the wedding guests. It was not quite what our DJ was expecting. However it was very interesting watching this unfold on the dance floor. However everyone at the wedding definitely enjoyed it!

The music choices requested by the bride and groom at this Kerry wedding were a mix of funk and soul. This music was requested to get the party started right after the first dance had finished. The second song was “James Brown – Sex Machine” then some Prince, Luther vandross. Then a mixture of everything including Justin Timberlake, Bruno Mars, some old school garage and house and some Indie.  Some of your more cheesy rock like Blink 182 and some cheesy 90s boy band classics, cue, 5ive and backstreet boy. Everyone was on the dance floor and having fun, but all too soon it was time for our wedding entertainment DJ to play the last song of the night. Abi & Charles chose the very appropriate “Mr brightside” by the “Killers” to end their Kerry wedding!
