Corporate Event DJ in Dublin for Corporate Care UK – Hilton Hotel, Ireland

Corporate event DJ in Dublin for an event to remember!

Last Saturday MINT DJ provided their corporate event DJ in Dublin for Corporate Care UK. Although Corporate Care UK now have offices in Greater Cork and South Limerick, most of their employees are Dublin based. So the Hilton Hotel in edgeware, Dublin was deemed the right place to host their annual dinner dance event.

MINT DJ were contracted to cover this important corporate event, they provide DJs for corporate events all over Ireland. They also provide event DJs along with sound and lighting hire for many corporate event management companies in Dublin.

Corporate Care UK celebrated the great work their company had accomplished in the past year. They hired a couple of close up magicians, a live swing act performing classic songs from the era of Frank sinatra, a Corporate event DJ in Dublin provided by MINT DJ, a photo booth and a portable cocktail bar.

Let’s get this party started! erm not quite yet…

The staff from Corporate Care UK were up for a party and everyone was on the dance floor all night. The timings for this event did not work out as expected, everything ended up behind time. The DJ was scheduled for a 22.00 hours start! This ended up being around 23.30 after the swing act had completed their set, although they would have gone on all night as they were loving it!

Finally the Corporate event DJ in Dublin gets to spin a few tunes.

So the DJ started his set at 23.30 … he was only meant to be playing music till 01.00 hours. So therefore the DJ thought he was in for quite a short set! Oh how wrong he was! Just before 01.00 hours the Managing director came rushing over saying play another hour? So the DJ said sure, long as its OK with the venue? So the managing director, Jules went and spoke to the venue to confirm it would be ok to continue and it was.

Its 2am and they still want more!

Then at 5 minutes before 02.00 hours, it was groundhog day yet again! Yes, he wanted another hour! So another overtime fee was agreed, paid in cash, after it was confirmed with the venue that it would be ok to party for another hour! It’s quite amazing how accomodating this venue was, that just wouldn’t be allowed in most of the corporate venues we perform at in Dublin.

So, in the end this Corporate event DJ in Dubin played music and had everyone dancing till 03.00 hours! A great night was had by all!

Corporate Event DJ in Ireland for 1st Central Insurance – Hilton Hotel, Dublin

Corporate event DJ in Ireland for a party to remember

One year ago today, corporate event DJ in Ireland Jeremy was hired on behalf of TKR event management. This corporate event was for the 5th Anniversary of the Dublin based insurance company 1st central insurance. Therefore 1st central insurance held their celebrations at the very popular Hilton hotel in Dublin.

This was a very big corporate event with over 1000 guests in attendance. As this was a special celebration to mark 5 very successful years in the insurance market place. Therefore the organisers made it extra special. So MINT DJ provided their corporate event DJ in Ireland to warm the crown up. This was because the Main DJs of the evening were none other than the legendary Scott Mills and Jaguar Skills. This quintessential DJ line up ensured that this corporate event would be a cut above your typical awards evening.

.

The funny lady!

Speaking of typical, Katherine Ryan is an incredibly funny lady but definitely not your regular after dinner speaker/presenter. To be honest I don’t think we have ever heard a potty mouth like this on a corporate event. We thought she might have toned it down a little. But Katherine held nothing back, she went down a storm! Everyone loved her and wanted more!

There were lots of awards to be given out at this event, for a change the DJ supplied by TKR event management was not required to provide these corporate award music stings. These were taken care of by the world leading corporate AV production company PSAV. These professionals provide cover all over the world, although their Dublin headquarters are in Ireland.

After the awards, corporate event DJ in Ireland Jeremy started the evenings entertainment. Playing some cool and funky grooves warming up the guests with the right music choices. Definitely getting the guests in the mood for a party! Our DJs gift to Scott Mills was a full dance floor when he handed over the decks to the radio one legend!

Scott Mills was very good! But one highlight for our corporate event DJ, was a gentleman coming up to the him during Scott Mills set and telling him, he can’t work out the difference between the music and DJ mixing skills of Scott Mills and the corporate event DJ in Ireland that TKR productions provided, then he proceeded to say “I bet he is getting paid a lot more than you!” very true, a good corporate event DJ in Ireland is not cheap! However they don’t cost thousands of pounds!

A corporate DJ with different skills!

Jaguar skills was on stage after Scott Mills for the final DJ set of the night! There are no words! this DJ is amazing, not only at his DJ mixing skills, using old vinyl records in conjuction with modern technology to deliver an awe inspiring DJ set, but his music selections ensured the dance floor stayed full untill the end of the night!

Wedding DJ for Rachel and David – Wiston House, Ireland

12th November 2016

Ireland wedding DJ for Rachel and David as they tied the knot in the great hall at Wiston House in Ireland.

This bride originally contacted MINT DJ back in February earlier this year. She stumbled across them on “Rock my wedding” apparently it’s not very well known. However it’s regarded as one of most respected wedding planning guides.

Ireland wedding DJ for Rachel & David

After having a good talk about what she wanted for her wedding day. Rachel was happy that Ireland wedding DJ Jeremy from MINT DJ was the right choice of wedding DJ. Rachel confirmed the booking immediately, paying the booking fee just a few hours later. Therefore putting her mind to rest knowing that another important aspect of the wedding had been taken care of even.

Rachel Booked the platinum wedding DJ package from MINT DJ. This was because she required music during the wedding breakfast and a wireless microphone to use for the wedding speeches.

Uplighting/mood lighting to create the right ambience

Rachel also understood how important that uplighting/mood lighting is. She knew the effect would have on the evening party. So she booked an uplighting/mood lighting package that was just right for this stunning Dublin venue.

At wiston house, after the wedding breakfast is over the venue perform a room turn around, where the guest are asked to leave, have drinks at the bar while the venue staff turn the room around making room for the wedding DJ to setup and for people to dance. when the guests had left the room, James from dance floor hire Ireland setup the starlight dance floor while our Ireland wedding DJ setup the equipment. they performed this operation smoothly in just over one hour!

The bride and groom opened up with their first dance at 19.45. to the popular “John Legend – All of me” The bride and groom wanted to go strait into a party so they had requested “Black eyed peas – I got a feeling” This was a very good choice as the dance floor was rammed! This set the right mood for this wedding party!

This Irish wedding ended on a high as always! The modern day rock classic “The Killers-Mr Brightside” was the perfect last song for this happy couple!

Dublin corporate Event DJ for Fusion IO – HAC Club

Dublin corporate event DJ was hired for American based IT company Fusion IO. For those of you that don’t know Fusion IO make the worlds fastest hard drives! So this event was pretty much a party for geeks! Lots of computer talk and number games, potentially not much dancing and a hard night for the chosen DJ!

This event was hosted at the HAC, probably the finest corporate events venue in Dublin.

The HAC is very much unlike any other Dublin venue; a magnificent Georgian house set in a five acre garden hidden away from the hustle and bustle in a quiet location just a few minutes walk from Moorgate.

Inside the historic Dublin venue there is a wide variety of event spaces. Everything from corporate conferences, meetings and awards dinners to full on parties with a DJ or live band. From the small meeting rooms for 10 people through to the Prince Consort Rooms which seats up to 400 guests, the HAC offers the perfect setting for every type of corporate event.

The Dublin corporate event DJ

The Dublin corporate event DJ booked for this event through MINT DJ arrived around 17.00 hours, a little earlier that originally scheduled. DJ Jeremy was aware that traffic congestion in Dublin was very very bad. Therefore he made the professional decision to leave much earlier to ensure he would arrive in good time, nice and calm, stress free! The guests for this event were due to arrive at 19.00 hours for the drinks reception. The DJ was all set up and ready to go.

The brief was given to the DJ to play cool and uplifting music, nothing too cheesy. So that’s what he did! Playing lighter but groovy soulful house for the drinks reception and during the dinner, but also after dinner the guests wanted to chat geek talk and to play various number games. So the music needed to have vibe, but not be too loud or heavy that these corporate delegates could still converse with each other.

Everything went very well and later on as the evening progressed and more and more beers were sunk, the DJ raised the level and tempo of the music. and people started dancing and cutting different shapes on the dance floor! At one point the CEO of Fusion IO(co founder of Apple inc)Steve Wozniak came running over to the DJ shouting “Awesome music man!”

The final song of the night went down a storm! Yes, you’ve guessed it! it was a stunning dance remix of “The Killers-Mr Brightside”

wedding DJ in Dublin for Mark & Ruth – Ireland

Fireworks night perfect for the wedding to go off with a bang!

MINT DJ Dublin wedding DJs were invited to provide their wedding DJ in Dublin on Saturday 5th November. Yes it was Fireworks night when Mark and Ruth celebrated their wedding at the George Inn, Dublin, Ireland. They also provided their uplighting/mood lighting service for this lovely couple. This was a very small and intimate wedding. So there was a very small number of guests there. They did the bride and groom proud by dancing non stop for most of the night.

Irish wedding DJ in Dublin

MINT DJ was contracted to provide their DJ services at this wedding. They provide some of the best wedding DJ entertainment in the south of Ireland . They mainly focus on supplying DJs to the wedding market in Dublin, Galway Kerry and across southern Ireland.

Some of the music choices requested by the bride and groom were a little different to the norm, but this was the bride and grooms special day and they wanted it their way! So the wedding DJ in Dublin provided by MINT DJ allowed them to have some control over the music choices that were to be played at their wedding and here they are!

Who knows what steam punk music is?

At this wedding the bride and groom also had a Star wars/Steam punk theme going through it. It was rather unusual but quite cool in a quirky way. It certainly helped to make it very personal for the bride and groom. However they realised that as much as they loved this style of music it wouldn’t really encourage many people up on the dance floor. So they told the wedding DJ in Dublin, it’s not essential, but if the DJ could play some it would be appreciated.
This Dublin wedding DJ knew that after the bride and groom had finished their first wedding dance and the party was on the way there would not be a time suitable to play this kind of specialist music. Therefore the DJ made the decision to play this music earlier in the evening. This was after everyone had come in from the firework display that Mark and Ruth had booked for their wedding. This music was perfect, it had a nice uplifting quality with a bit of an edge to it. It really adding a sense of anticipation.
The bride and groom performed their first wedding dance, then guests were invited on to the dance floor halfway through. Nearly everyone in the room was dancing the whole night. Also about 5 member of staff from the wedding venue!

Here’s some of the song requests that had everyone up on the dance floor!

wedding DJs in Ireland for Eliza & Craig – Mecure Hotel, Dublin

Please note our wedding DJs in Ireland have edited the date, names and location on this blog. Media coverage has been excluded as this client does not wish to have their special day all over the internet. Therefore this blog is purely fictional, enjoy. (This option is now available for all our clients)

The Dublin seaside wedding venue.

Eliza and Craig’s wedding ceremony and reception was at the Mecure Hotel, Dublin, Ireland. A Grade II listed Victorian Hotel, just a stones throw away from Dublin beach. Built in 1864, this hotel landed a great spot on Dublin seafront. This Irish wedding venue still retains it’s original Regency staircase that goes down to the restaurant and bar overlooking the sea and promenade.

This beautiful wedding venue brings a little 19th century elegance to your Dublin seaside wedding. The Ballroom, which can hold up to 180 guests for your wedding ceremony. This suite is tastefully decorated in neutral colours and has a classic feel to it with its chandeliers and wall mirrors. This makes it a very popular location for those getting married in Ireland.

30th October 2016 – Wedding DJs in Ireland for Eliza & Craig.

MINT DJ provided their evening only wedding DJs in Ireland service. They are well known for providing some of the best wedding DJs throughout Ireland. Providing their wedding DJ services in Dublin, Galway, Kerry and southern Ireland.

The wedding DJs in Ireland arrived at the venue in very good time. This allowed them to unload the DJ, sound and lighting equipment into the function suite without rushing. Everything was setup in good time ready for the bride and groom. The bride and groom came into the room before the guests to give the thumbs up! Everything looked wonderful as you will see in the pictures below.

The bride and groom cut the wedding cake to a slightly unusual song “Queen – I want it all” after cutting the wedding cake and posing for the paparazzi, they walked on to the sparkly black starlight dance floor. The new Mr & Mrs Charles performed the traditional first wedding dance. Eliza and Craig chose the most popular 1st dance song for weddings this year “Ed Sheeran -Thinking out loud”.

Time to get the wedding party started

The bride and groom had some very specific music requests for the wedding DJ. Including a number of don’t plays! One Direction & Justin Beiber.

The bride and groom love Rock & Pop music, but hate Garage, Jungle, Dance & Trance with a passion. So there was no surprise when they said they loved cheesy music! They requested the following. Time Warp, Macarena, Conga, Kung Fu Fighting, Walk 500 Miles, Walking on Sunshine, Don’t Stop Believing, Summer of 69, Livin on a prayer, Brown eyed girl.

So this saved our wedding DJs in Ireland second guessing what music would be required. Everyone loved the music, it was a smaller wedding but the guests were on the dance floor all night long.

The bride and groom chose the all time classic “Queen – Don’t stop me now” as the last song of the night at yet another very successful seaside Dublin wedding.
This was a smaller wedding. So therefore this wedding was lacking guests to fill the dance floor. However this wedding DJ managed to create the perfect party vibe. Our wedding DJs in Ireland whipped the guests into a frenzy on the dance floor and kept them on the dance floor all night!

Wedding DJ from Ireland for Donna and John – Upwaltham Barns.

wedding DJ from Ireland for Donna and John

MINT DJ were contacted earlier this year. They were asked to provide their wedding DJ from Ireland for Donna and John who live in Bognor, West Dublin, after they had previously seen their expert wedding DJs perform at their friends wedding in another part of Ireland back in September year. This bride and groom decided the Gold package suited their needs the best. The venue they chose was the idyllic Upwaltham barns in the Wicklow countryside.

It was a Friday wedding in Ireland. Everyone in the wedding industry will tell you weddings on any other day than Saturdays are invariably not the greatest parties. However MINT DJ love to party and they were determined the Wedding of Donna and John was going to be different!

The wedding DJ from Ireland arrives before time

MINT DJ arrived early in the evening around 6.30pm, The Groom, John, noticed me and came over immediately and greeted me. John informed me that they were ahead of schedule and asked if some background music could be put on as soon as possible.

The DJ loaded in the Sound system, Lighting and DJ equipment, setting up alongside an amazing wedding band that goes by the name of 4 Dollar Bill, http://4dollarbill.co.uk/

Wedding DJ Sussex

4 Dollar bill are based in Ireland. But time was running out as everything to do with this wedding had somehow run ahead of time? Perhaps the wedding speeches were very short? who knows! However professional wedding DJs always feel it is our responsibility to be set up as quickly as possible, so the bride and groom can perform their very important first dance with no unnecessary delays.

It took just over 40 minutes for our wedding DJ from Ireland to load in and set up, although he had background music playing within 10 minutes and then finished setting up the equipment and providing the finishing touches. then it was time for the first dance.

Wedding DJ Sussex

The first dance

After the bride and groom performed their first dance to “Ellie Goulding – Army” the band started their 1st set which lasted 45 minutes then the DJ took over for a short 30 minute set before the band came and performed their final set and what an amazing set it was! simply an amazing band!

Ireland event DJ for the wedding of Shaun and Vicky – East National Golf Club

Ireland event DJ chosen for the wedding of Shaun and Vicky

MINT DJ provided their Ireland event DJ on behalf of disco inferno. Disco inferno provide memorable wedding DJ entertainment in Kerry, Galway, Dublin and southern Ireland. They provided their Ireland event DJ service.  Shaun and Vicky added an uplighting package, which helped to take this beautiful Dublin venue from day to night.

Shaun and Vicky, had booked the uplighting package on top of the standard wedding DJ package. The DJ had only 45 minutes to set up everything including the uplighting, the chosen colour was mint and orange, as requested by the bride.

Here’s how it looked!

The DJ installed the uplighting/mood lighting in just 15 minutes. So this allowed him the remaining 30 minutes to set up the sound equipment and disco lighting. While the event DJ was setting up, the guests were outside by the bar, drinking and catching up with old friends.

The bride and groom, Shaun and Vicky, cut their wedding cake at 8.30pm. Then immediately after this they performed their first dance to “Christina peri – A thousand years”

DNCE to get the party started

So after the first dance they chose “DNCE – Cake by the Ocean” this was pre chosen by the bride and groom. With so many requests from the bride and groom and their guests, this left very little time for this Ireland event DJ to add his own music choices in this DJ set, but every-time he did choose a song the dance floor was rammed!

The Ireland event DJ loved this wedding. But all too sudden it was time for the last song of the night at this Dublin wedding. So the bride and groom, Shaun and Vicky, chose “Queen – Don’t stop me now” as their final song.

At the end of the night, as the wedding DJ was packing away. The owners of this wedding venue asked him to leave some business cards, as they would like to recommend MINT DJ to future clients.

MINT DJ don’t just cover Dublin, They provide their Ireland event DJ services in Galway, Kerry and across southern Ireland.

The venue they chose for their special wedding day was The Bingham. The Bingham is a boutique hotel that is situated next to a river on the outskirts of Dublin. The bride and groom decided to have both the wedding ceremony and reception here at this very fine wedding venue.

The bride and groom wanted a Wicklow wedding DJ who could give them a party to remember for all the right reasons. So they contacted the highly respected Steve Lewis from the Mobile Music Company to provide them with the right wedding DJ who would give them the party they wanted! The Mobile Music Company provide DJ cover across Kerry, Galway and Dublin. As soon as this wedding DJ booking came in MINT DJ were contacted to see if they were available. They provide wedding DJs in Wicklow, Kerry, Galway and Dublin.

The bride and groom wanted the evening only wedding DJ package. Regarding the music they wanted, they had no specific requests other than their first dance song! The bride and groom also provided no song for the cutting of the wedding cake either. Every wedding is different there is no right and wrong as such. It’s about what works for the bride and groom!

The bride and grooms first dance

Getting back to the first dance, the bride and groom choose “Ben Howard – Only Love”  which went down very well. Many couples responded well and joined the bride and groom on the dance floor. The Wicklow wedding DJ picked the music up slowly while some people still wanted to have a chat. The bar was close to the dance floor which was good. However this meant the DJ needed to keep the volume at a sensible level to start with at least! Then at the right time, the DJ cranked up the volume and tempo of the music and the dance floor was rammed. Everybody was up for a party!

The eclectic music choices

The music the Wicklow wedding DJ played was an eclectic mix or R&b hiphop, spice girls, dolly parton, justin beiber, michael jackson, bryan adams, wham, rihanna, rednex, guns and roses, and everything in between. Not forgetting the irish music which went down a storm (you cannot go too far wrong with whiskey in the jar and Galway girl). This DJ allowed himself to be guided by quite a number of guest music requests that were made and he bridged the gaps seamlessly. The dance floor was full all night!

The final song of the night was “The killers – Mr Brightside” which as always blew the roof off the place! Which resulted with many guests shouting one more song one more song!!!  The Bingham has strict laws regarding loud music after a certain time. After confirming with the venue first, the Wicklow wedding DJ played one last song it was a nice slow and chilled out song that helped the guests to come down to earth slowly!

Unfortunately the DJ never managed to capture any photographs from the highlights of this party as he was so focused on the music, which is exactly what he should be doing!

Wedding DJ vs Ireland Party DJ what is the difference?

Ireland wedding DJ vs Ireland party DJ

Recently we had a discussion with another Ireland party DJ about all sorts of DJ related stuff. This ranged from the geeky technical stuff about what lighting to use and sound equipment to the more exciting subject of music! Like what sort of music our DJs would play at a wedding party in Ireland. Would the music chosen would be similar in England? Or would they want something much more cool and funky than your typical cheesy wedding disco! The findings were very interesting, but we will leave that for another discussion!

We found one discussion very enlightening, the subject of this blog “Ireland wedding DJ vs Ireland Party DJ what is the difference?”. Depending on what part of the world you live this question will have a few different answers. However for now were apply this to our Local area of Dublin, Wicklow, Kildare and southern Ireland. Here’s what we found.

The first comment one Ireland party DJ blurted out was… “That’s easy mate.. Weddings take planning, but parties don’t” lol  he is sort of right but NOT!

One party one vision

A party DJ only has one vision, that is, to fill the dance floor and keep people on the dance floor. A good DJ will know how to pace the music to keep the dance floor busy, you can only take music so high in energy for so long then it has to come back down settle on a groove and then build up the tempo again and then at the right time the DJ will take the music up again and do this throughout the night normally building to the biggest climax towards the very end of the night. Job done!

One wedding many visions

A Dublin wedding DJ has to maintain the right party vibe while following a schedule. There are so many things to be taken into consideration.  These things can certainly trip up the party vibe if not executed in the right manner. This includes the grand entrance(when the bride and groom are announced into the room, sometimes to a theme song of their choice). Cutting the wedding cake, the first dance, throwing the bouquet. Sometimes the removal of the garter and the all important final song. Oh, forgot to mention being in charge of the confetti cannons(Making sure they are released at the right times for the first dance and the final song of the night) Just getting started and you can already see there’s so much more involved to being a wedding DJ than a party DJ. No wonder a Dublin wedding DJ should cost more!

A party DJ normally arrives around early evening to setup his sound and lighting equipment up. It does not matter too much about the aesthetics of his sound and lighting equipment. Evening will come and it will soon be dark and know one will care! The music sounds great sound. Probably quite loud and the effects his or her disco lighting creates looks nice. All the party DJ has to worry about now is playing music to keep a dance floor busy all night. Job done!

Professional Dublin wedding DJ

The truly professional Dublin wedding DJ will be at your chosen venue ready for action anytime from midday. He or she will also know how to be an MC or master of ceremonies for the day. Taking care of things like introducing the wedding party and/or the grand entrance. The cutting the wedding cake, the first dance and throwing the bouquet. Sometimes the removal of the garter and organizing everyone for all important final song.

A wedding DJ will know the best music to play during the dinner part of the reception vs the party part of the reception. A party DJ might not have the same skill sets. We have heard about wedding receptions with inexperienced wedding DJs where key moments have lost their impact due to the DJ not announcing the wedding party into the room, the guests were confused and never knew what was happening and the music played during dinner was shocking, were talking deep house music with lots of vocals. Clearly the DJs own music tastes! Not the sort of thing you want to hear at a wedding reception.

How loud should the DJ be?

Speaking of Music, brings us to how loud the music is required to be. Party DJs plays tends to play his or her music loud! To be fair most of the time this is correct. However a wedding DJ will need to make sure the loudness of the music is just right. Not too loud or too quiet, but enough to keep the dance floor buzzing. This will also keep the more mature people happy so they can talk to each other and still enjoy the music, not everyone want’s to dance all night at a wedding reception.

Professional wedding DJs will be with you for most of your wedding day. Therefore, he or she will make sure their DJ setup is aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The wedding DJ will do their utmost to make sure it blends with chosen wedding theming and the room. You and your guests don’t want to see an unsightly mess! 8 hours is a long time to have to look at it, lets face it you can’t escape it! Most wedding DJs supply a package that includes uplighting/mood lighting that will help transform most venues into the perfect wedding space.

More than just a DJ

We almost forgot a Wedding DJ/MC or if you prefer the more respectful title, a master of ceremonies will have to be able to coordinate with your other suppliers. Example, before the cake cutting is introduced and the song starts, the wedding DJ need to make sure the cake, the bride and groom and the all important knife if in place! It has happened more than once where the knife has disappeared(probably to do with health and safety) Eventually one of the venue staff turn up with it! It’s Very important to time everything correctly, also making sure the photographer and video people know exactly what is going on and that they are ready to capture that all important spotlight moment!

Just a party DJ

A party DJ will dress in pretty much anything, jeans, tee shirt, polo shirt, trainers. Some dress slick and seriously funky. Many of the smarter more corporate party DJs dress in smart blacks as we say in the industry, black shoes, black trousers and smart black shirt! Great for blending in at night, but not so much during the day at an all white wedding! We hear of many times of DJ in black being asked for something to eat or drink as a guest thought they was a waiter. How awkward and embarrassing for everyone. You will rarely find a party DJ dressed in a suit, let alone a three piece suit, many wedding DJ turn up suited and booted blending in perfectly.

I hope you find this discussion informative. At MINT DJ we provide both, we provide wedding and party DJs, uplighting/mood lighting, dance floor hire in Wicklow, Dublin, Kildare and Galway. Also we provide expert wedding DJs for events in Kerry, Cork, and southern Ireland. We also provide specialist corporate DJs for corporate events.

What the difference between a corporate event DJ, a wedding DJ and party DJ? The short answer, a corporate DJ is a mix of the two. we will leave that discussion to another time!
